Bethel

Bethel is located in Windsor County, 33 miles south of Montpelier between Beanville and Gaysville. It lies on the banks of the Third Branch White River near the Joseph Smith Birthplace Memorial.

Bethel was the first town created by the independent Republic of Vermont in 1779. Bethel was named for the place in the Old Testament.
