Brattleboro

Where Vermont Begins

Brattleboro is located in Windham County, 12 miles north of the Massachusetts state line in southwest Vermont. The town is nestled between the West and Connecticut Rivers, and provides visitors with an abundance of outdoor activities, arts, and entertainment.

Fort Dummer was built at the site in 1724, and served as a scouting post and trading center. Rudyard Kipling built a house for his bride just north of here.
