Colchester

Colchester is located in Chittenden County, on the shore of Lake Champlain along Highway 2A.

Chartered on June 7, 1763, Colchester became one of the "Onion River Towns" when it was settled by two of Vermont's most famous pioneers, Ira Allen and Remember Baker.

With a population of approximately 16,609, Colchester is home to many wholesale suppliers and manufacturers, such as Coco-Cola Bottling Co., Jordans Foods, Northeast Marine Co., Polhemus, Inc., Reliance Steel and numerous others. The town also is home to the Colchester Chronicle bi-monthly newspaper.

Colchester is part of the Burlington, Vermont metro area.
