East Burke (pop. 1,756) is located in
Caledonia County, on Route 114. Burke, Burke Hollow and West Burke are nearby and considered to be among New England's most picturesque villages.
Chartered on February 26, 1782 and named for the English statesman Edmund Burke, the township's area is 33.8 square miles.
An annual fall foliage festival in East Burke attracts hundreds of tourists. The imposing Burke Mountain, home of Burke Mountain Ski Resort, is observable from many parts of the area.
