The 3,848-foot Mount Equinox is the highest in the Taconic Range. Its summit is reached via Mount Equinox Skyline Drive, at 5.2 miles the longest privately owned paved toll road in the country. It has an elevation increase of 3,235 feet with guard rails, steep grades and sharp curves. Six picnic and parking areas lie at the terminus. The Skyline Drive Toll House is located on Vermont Historic Route 7A, between Manchester and Arlington. A toll is charged per vehicle. Nothing larger than a passenger minivan, full-size pickup or small camper is permitted.
