Johnson Public Library, serving an area of 3,300 residents, has a collection of 8,400 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 42 CDs, records, cassettes and other audio materials, as well as 12 video items, such as DVDs and VHS tapes.
Staffing consists of one employee, plus volunteers. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $2,400. Patrons make 2,300 visits annually, and check out materials 6,000 times. Twenty-nine percent of all check-outs are children's materials.
