Shrewsbury, serving an area of 1,100 residents, has a collection of 8,400 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 168 CDs, records, cassettes and other audio materials, as well as 440 video items, such as DVDs and VHS tapes. Staffing consists solely of volunteers. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $1,540. Patrons make 3,700 visits annually, and check out materials 5,400 times. Sixty-three percent of all check-outs are children's materials.
