George Peabody, serving an area of 2,600 residents, has a collection of 7,200 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 100 CDs, records, cassettes and other audio materials, as well as . Staffing consists of one employee, plus volunteers. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $2,700. Patrons make 1,540 visits annually, and check out materials 1,540 times. Eighty percent of all check-outs are children's materials.
