Reading (pop. 662) is located in
Windsor County. Chartered on June 6, 1761, the town is the birthplace of the well-known Bud Hawkins Seed Company. Northern Reading is the site of Hammondsville Old Settlement, where cellar depressions and footings of old houses can be seen with early settlers' names visible on them. Reading is also the home of Reading Historical Society.
