Lake Shore Elementary School has a very diverse student population of 515 in grades kindergarten to fifth grade. The students include neighborhood children, plus children from all over the district in two magnet programs: Life Skills for special needs children and Challenge for highly capable students. The many exciting learning experiences include theme based learning, creative arts block, community-building activities, Newsbreakers (live broadcasting from their own studio) and upgraded technology. The school also offers a media center.
