Bickleton

|
The rural community of Bickleton is known as the "Bluebird Capital of America," on account of the thousands of bluebirds that spend most of the year in the area and the more than 1500 birdhouses erected by residents. The bluebirds begin arriving in February and leave some time around October. The birds that frequent the area are the Blue Mountain Bluebird and the Red-breasted Western Bluebird. Although quite small (population 90), there are interesting events and places in or near town. Bickleton is home to the states oldest tavern, The Bluebird, and the states oldest rodeo. Just 11 miles south of town is the Whoop-n-Holler Museum where there are many interesting local antiques and old vehicles.
