Buckhorn Wilderness

With over 44,000 acres, Buckhorn Wilderness is divided into northern and southern portions by the Dungeness River. The smaller northern portion descends from higher mountainous terrain to lowlands heavily forested with fir, hemlock, and cedar. South of the river, the terrain soars skyward to a ragged ridge with difficult access and few visitors. Located just to the north of the Brothers Wilderness in the northeast section of the Olympic National Forest.
