Chewelah Washington

Located about 50 miles north of Spokane, and 50 miles south of the Canadian border in Stevens County, Chewalah has a long mining history dating back to the 1880s. Unlike other mining boom towns, the mines around Chewalah kept producing ore well into the 1950s.

Today, the area around Chewalah consists mainly of productive farmland. The city also boasts two parks.
