The West Valley School District and its entire community are dedicated to creating schools where each student experiences success every day. The district is the third largest in the Yakima Valley. It covers 250 square miles in the West Yakima area, currently serving 4,500 students. The district operates six elementary schools kindergarten through fifth grade, one middle school grades six and seven, one junior high school grades eight and nine, and one high school grades ten through twelve. It complies with all federal and state rules and regulations and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, gender or disability.

Seattle Japanese Cultural Festival Seattle WA April26-28 The festival features Japanese exhibits, performances, and demonstrations. Held at the Seattle Center in the Fisher Pavilion. The annual festival began in 1976 with a gift of 1,000 cherry trees to the city of Seattle from the Japanese government to celebrate the U.S. Bicentennial.
