An island in
Puget Sound at the entrance to Carr Inlet. It is connected to the mainland by a bridge at its north end.
Charles Wilkes, in command of the United States Exploring Expedition in 1841, named it after the expedition's assistant surgeon, Lt. John L. Fox.
