Franz Lake National Wildlife Refuge

Franz Lake and associated wetlands provide wintering habitat for Canada geese, a variety of ducks, and up to 1000 tundra swans. Upland habitat supports raptors and big game. The refuge's 493 acres consist of large shallow floodplain (Franz Lake) and forested upland.

The refuge is located along Highway 14, 15 miles east of Washougal. The refuge is closed to public access, however, there is a vehicle turnout on Highway 14 to allow visitors to view the lake.P>
