This wilderness, covering more than 100,000 acres of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest and Wenatchee National Forest was one used by the Yakima Indians for foraging and religious rituals. It is crossed from north to south by the Pacific Crest National Hiking Trail. It is located 12 miles east of Packwood.
