Henry M Jackson Wilderness

The Henry M Jackson Wilderness, named for a late U.S. Senator from Washington, covers over 100,000 acres of the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest and Wenatchee National Forest, and is adjacent to Glacier Peak Wilderness.

The region is reminiscent of the Swiss Alps, and there are 60+ lakes in the wilderness, supporting a wide variety of plant and animal life. The region was once used by Indians and 19th-century explorers to cross the Washington's Cascade Mountains.
