The town of Index, in
Snohomish County, is on the North Fork of the
Skykomish River. Mount Index, towering over the town, is a favorite with climbers and photographers. Index Town Wall, a 500-foot vertical cliff, has become one of the Northwest's hottest climbing spots, featuring some of the most technical rock climbing anywhere in the state.
