Waterworks Gallery represents contemporary artists of Pacific Northwest. It shows various regional, national and international artworks. They offer an eclectic range of artworks in the full spectrum of media such as glass, watercolors, oils, stone, wood and ceramic sculpture, works on paper including etching, lithography, mezzotint and photogravure. The gallery presents eight to ten shows a year.

The annual festival began in 1976 with a gift of 1,000 cherry trees to the city of Seattle from the Japanese government to celebrate the U.S. Bicentennial.
