Legion Memorial sits atop a hill alongside the Snohomish River. The course is named after the American Legion, which owned the course until 1940, when the association deeded the facility to the city.
The golf course underwent major remodeling in 1998, with changes made to over 50% of the holes on the course, plus three new lakes were added.
