Medical Lake is a community west of Spokane, founded in the late 1800s by Andrew Lefevre, a French Canadian. He discovered that by bathing in the lake waters, his arthritis and rheumatism were cured. He named the lake "Lac de Medicine" for its healing properties.Medical Lake is part of the Spokane, WA metro area.
