The farthest north community on
Grays Harbor County's Pacific coast before the Quinault Indian Reservation, Moclips is noted for its spectacular beaches. The name Moclips comes from an Indian word meaning "Placid Waters".
Communities along the beach to the south of Moclips are (north to south) Pacific Beach, Copalis Beach, Ocean City, and Ocean Shores at the end of the spit at the mouth of Grays Harbor.
