The Norse Peak Wilderness contains more than 50,000 acres of the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest and Wenatchee National Forest. There are some gold deposits for recreational miners. The highest peaks are Norse Peak and Fife's Peak, a remnant volcanic cone.
