In DuPont, you'll find two kinds of neighborhoods: the historic village of
DuPont, a charming turn-of-the-century company town, and Northwest Landing, a planned community that offers modern amenities along with favorite design elements from the past.
Weyerhaueser bought 3,000 acres in 1976 from the DuPont company after their plant closed. The property is now Northwest Landing, whose first homes were built in 1994 and where the first businesses were located in 1995. Northwest Landing's land-use plan includes industrial, office and commercial development, in addition to homes, schools, and places of worship.
