The historic town of Pateros was established around 1896. It is located in
Okanogan County at the confluence of the Methow and Columbia rivers and is a center for outdoor recreation.
Pateros includes the popular Alta Lake State Park, and access to Lake Pateros. Fruit orchards and apple processing plants are abundant.
