This area is in the path of the Pacific Flyway of migratory birds and is adjacent to the migratory route of the gray whale.
The park features hiking, storm watching, sunset viewing, bird watching, beachcombing, horseback riding, kite flying, surfing, surf fishing, clamming, picnicking and agate hunting.
In all, the park stretches for 19 unbroken miles from Grays Harbor to Willapa Bay.
