Situated just an hour north of Seattle, Stanwood is the northernmost city in Snohomish County. The primary industry in the area is agriculture. The city is the home of the largest independent frozen pea processor in the world. Stanwood also had the world's shortest railroad - seven-eighths of a mile - until it shut down in 1938. There are also many parks within the city. Stanwood is part of the Seattle-Bellevue-Everett, WA metro area.
