Tahuya State Forest

Get to Know the Sensitive, Hardworking Tahuya

Tahuya State Forest on the Kitsap Peninsula is relatively flat, covering one-third of the Tahuya area surrounded by Hood Canal. The Douglas fir, western hemlock (the state tree), alder, abundant salal and coast rhododendron (the state flower) provide rich wildlife habitat.

More than 200,000 visitors come to the forest each year for many recreation opportunities.
