Eleanor Roosevelt is one of the largest elementary schools in Vancouver School District. It encourages students to think critically and creatively, celebrate cultural diversity and uniqueness, become global, lifelong learners, and achieve expected learner outcomes. They have 700 students. Students in grades K-5 are housed in three "wings" or building sections divided by age levels. Teachers follow their students for two years in a "looping" configuration. They include the work of Howard Gardner on multiple intelligences in curriculum planning and emphasize the research of William Glasser in working with each student's self-evaluation of behavior.
