The Rose Theatre, one of the most treasured features of Port Townsend's National Historic District, originally opened in 1907. The Rose showcased local talent, travelling vaudeville troupes and a recent invention: moving pictures. The theatre closed in 1958 but was re-discovered and lovingly restored in 1992.
