Menomonie is located in Dunn County (of which it is the county seat), between Eau Claire and Hudson along US Highway 12 on the banks of the Red Cedar River near Downsville, Boyceville, and Spring Valley. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 14,727, an increase of 1,180 since 1990.
