Oconto is located in
Oconto County (of which it is the county seat) between
Green Bay and
Marinette along US Highway 41 on the banks of the Oconto River near
Peshtigo,
Oconto Falls, and the Michickauee Flowage. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 4,812, an increase of 338 since 1990.
