The Hidout

Al Capone's Northwoods Retreat

Noted by AAA as a place of exceptional interest in norther Wisconsin is "The Hidout", the northwoods retreat of Chicago's most notorious gangster Al Capone.

Carved from the hardwood forest in the early 1920's, this estate was tightly guarded by gunman from the ground as well as the Gun Tower. The main lodge boasts a hand-cut native stone fireplace as well as a spiral staircase custom made in Chicago. Tours will take you through the main lodge, bunk house, jail cell and a museum of the roaring 20's.

The Hidout also boasts a fine dining restaurant, full bar and unique gift shop.
