Whitehall is located in Trempealeau County (of which it is the county seat) between Eau Claire and La Crosse along US Hwy 53 on the banks of the Trempealeau River near Blair, Arcadia, and Osseo. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 1,546, an increase of 47 since 1990.
