Cyfeiliog Guest House

"Cyfeiliog" with its red telephone box was once the village post office and shop. The house, facing south, looks up the River Twymyn towards the bridge in the centre of Bont Dolgadfan, a tiny village of about 25 houses. Sitting on the lawn, surrounded by trees and shrubs, listening to the sound of the water is a favourite occupation. The Magic of Mid Wales starts to work as soon as you step out of your car. Inside, the lounge, dating from about 1750, is beamed and welcoming. In cold weather the stove fire spreads its warmth and welcome, though there is central heating throughout. The bedrooms, all with wash-basins are "cottagey", warm and well equipped. As there are two bathrooms, Guests usually have their own facilities. Tea and coffee can be made in the Guests' kitchen, where flasks can be filled, an extra 'cuppa' prepared or clothes and boots dried after a long day walking.
