Glanirfon Farmhouse is a 200 year old traditional Welsh longhouse, once abandoned, which has been carefully restored to provide modern accommodation while retaining the period features of exposed beams, inglenook fireplaces and original bread oven. It is one mile from the centre of town. The house was the birthplace of Thomas Powel (1845 - 1922) who became the first Professor of the Welsh language at Cardiff University. Glanirfon B&B is open all year, and offers accommodation in double, twin, family and single rooms. Evening meals and packed lunches are available on request. Llanwrtyd Wells makes the ideal centre for walkers, bikers, birdwatchers and those who wish simply to enjoy the peace and beauty of Mid Wales.
