Holy Island lies off the west coast of
Anglesey, extending into the open waters of the
Irish Sea. It is separated from Anglesey by a narrow, winding channel that is crossed by bridges. On one site of the island is the port town of
Holyhead. The rural town of Rhoscolyn is on the other, with the coastal resort of Trearddur Bay in between.
