Red Lion

The Red Lion offers unusual luxury for a village tafarn. Cyffylliog is at the end of a river valley and the centre for all local activity, bird watching, walking, hill walking, sailing, canoeing, clay shooting, camping and caravaning. The tafarn is used by locals and offers all the facilities required by the local hill farming community; the various hunts and rural pursuits meet here. Ruthin town has many fine old buildings, a castle dating from the 12th century and many associations with the Welsh rebel and Prince, Owain Glyndwr. The surrounding country is well worth exploring and within 1 hour you can reach many historical sites as well as Chester, with its Roman ruins, wall and excellent shops, Holyhead gateway to Ireland and Dublin and the whole of Snowdonia with its mountain railways, waterfalls, slate mines and many other interesting features.
