As the county seat of
Upshur County (
Central Region), Buckhannon is between
Elkins and
Weston along Highway 33.
The nearby Audra State Park is a wonderful place to spend a day on the hiking paths, walking paths, or having a picnic. It is an excellent place to stop at while visiting the area.
The city has a higher standard of education at the West Virginia Wesleyan College. They offer higher education to all students throughout the area.
