Once a large lumbering community, Cass retains the history of its greatness at the beginning of the 20th century. The Cass Country Store is in the former West Virginia Pulp and Paper General Store, purported to have been the largest company store in the world. The Wildlife Museum and Historical Museum house a collection of wildlife exhibits and relics pertaining to the timber and mining industry, including one of the largest band saws in the world. The Cass Showcase is a historic diorama and includes a reproduction of the town during the lumber boom at the beginning of the 19th century.
