Founded in 1837 Marshall University is a public institution, operating under state control, located in Huntington, Cabell County, WV. Part of the University of West Virginia system, this is a comprehensive public institution offering programs in liberal arts and sciences, business, education, fine arts, and nursing. Programs listed above can lead to associates degrees, bachelors degrees, masters degrees, post-masters certificates, doctoral degrees and first professional degrees. Total enrollment is approximately 12,000. The 70 acre campus is in an urban area 126 miles east of Lexington Kentucky and 50 miles west of Charleston. Including residence halls, there are 30 buildings.
Athletic scholarships are given in football, basketball, baseball and track/cross country. Student housing is available for 1905.
