Morgantown, on the east bank of the Monongahela River, is the seat of Monongaia County and the home of West Virginia University. Near the Evansdale campus is the WVU Health Sciences Center.
Cooper's Rock State Forest offers 12,713 acres of forest, interesting rock formations, hiking trails, cross-country ski trails, camping and picnic areas.
Morgantown is at the western end of the scenic portion of I-68, which runs east to Hancock Md.
