Ian Corn Named UAA Athlete of the Week

Freshman Ian Corn of Roslyn, NY was named men’s tennis UAA Athlete of the Week on March 8 for his performance against Division II Queens College, held in Queens, NY on March 5. Corn defeated his opponent 6-4, 7-5 in #3 singles competition, while Corn and teammate Nico Buencamino scored a 8-4 victory at #3 doubles.

Earlier in the week, the Violets competed at the Drew University Invitational, which was held from Saturday, February 28 to Sunday, February 29, in Madison, New Jersey. Corn collected three victories to win at #3 singles. NYU won the invitational, while the College of New Jersey finished second, Drew finished third, and Salisbury University finished fourth.
