Founded in 1871, this is a state supported institution offering programs in liberal and creative arts, business administration, teacher education, the social and natural sciences, health and other career-oriented fields. There are 4 undergraduate schools. The 320 acre campus is in a small town 70 miles northwest of Washington DC and Baltimore. Including residence halls, there are 29 buildings.
Fraternities, sororities and over 46 clubs and organizations are on campus. Tours of the campus are offered through the admissions office.
