The plains and draws of the Buffalo Creek Area define the open range that comes to mind when most people think about Wyoming. Buffalo Creek also maintains great views of the
Big Horn Mountains. Chalk Mountain towers at the center of the area.
As the name implies, Buffalo Creek was once home to a large population of bison, who roamed the open plains. Today, the area is important to the large populations of mule deer, pronghorn antelope, and golden eagles. Located in the Bighorn Basin in northern Wyoming.
