Inside the Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area, the Devil Canyon Overlook is just north of the Horseshoe Bend turnoff. The overlook features a spectacular view of the confluence of the Bighorn and Devil Canyons atop cliffs 1,000 ft above the lakes.

The Bighorn River, cooperating with about 65 million years, carved the chasm of the Bighorn Canyon. The walls cut into the earth over 1,000 ft deep. They feature colorful walls and fossils from when the area was a body of water. The Bighorn Canyon Recreation Area Visitor Center is on the east side of Lovell.
