Originally founded to serve the needs of railroad and military workers, United Medical Center now has a licensed bed capacity of 195, offering complete cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, cancer, trauma and general medical care.
United Medical Center recently opened a new, private patient tower as part of its goal to provide every hospital patient with a private room. Five floors of patient rooms feature state-of-the-art, modular construction with remote-controlled window shades and lights, and overnight accommodations for a family member in every room.
The new rooms are equipped with a unique, overbed/bedside table unit and an armoire-style wardrobe with a fold-out desk; private bath with a large shower; TV/DVD player with Surround Sound™; and illuminated overbed and wall murals depicting outdoor scenes.
