This hot water geyser, like many others also contained in Yellowstone National Park, spurts water at predictable intervals. The direction the water goes, however, is different for every geyser; some geysers shoot water upwards, some at an angle, and some simply bubble. Most of the 10,000 thermal features in Yellowstone are in the main geyser basins in the western and south-central regions of the park: Lower, Upper, Midway, Norris, West Thumb, Heart Lake and Shoshone. Two short roads, both one-way, are an interesting addition to any geyser tour.
