Outlaw Cave and Canyon

Outlaw Cave and Canyon lies about 20 miles from Kaycee near the southern end of the Big Horn Mountains. The main attraction of the Cave and Canyon, the Trail, is very steep. It leads to the cave at the bottom of the Middle Fork of the Powder River and takes about 15 minutes to travel.

On the canyon rim lies a BLM campground that contains picnic tables, fire pits, and a pit toilet. Although no water is available, the camp contains garbage facilities. High canyon walls tower over the river's edge. The Middle Fork drops steeply in a series of rises and falls, and carries a variety of fish. Fly fishing is the only method permitted.
